Drei Geschichten

The video installation is part of the exhibition «Drei Geschichten» by Michael Meier & Christoph Franz at Zeughaus Teufen.

In their solo exhibition the artist duo explores the complex web of land, inheritances and family histories. Using the municipality of Teufen as an example, they show prototypically how these themes affect building culture and the townscape. The exhibition presents the artistic exploration on three levels: multimedia in the space, historically in a publication and site-specifically in three rivers in the municipality. The latter played a central role as a driving force of industrialisation, as hydropower contributed significantly to the prosperity and development of the region as a location for the textile industry. This complexity makes it possible to discover the deep connection between history, culture and the environment and to engage with the interwoven narratives of the municipality of Teufen.
